Australia’s Prime minister, Julia Gillard released a much awaited study – Australia in the Asian Century, on 28 October 2012. In this study, the government has laid out, what was described as a ‘roadmap to guide Australia to become a more prosperous and resilient nation, fully part of the Asian region and open to the world’.
As a citizen of Australia who has spent three-fourths of my life in Asia, and running a business that has its feet both in Australia and India, I have always been interested in the Australia-Asian and Australian-Indian engagement.
